Stay – 1322 Backpackers International

Having no accommodation when landing in Pretoria, I consulted my bible (Coast to Coast) and found a spare bed at 1322 Backpackers International. And I’m glad I did! Although it’s a bit of a trek to Pretoria City centre, it is situated only minutes from the Hatfield Gautrain stop, universities and other attractions.

As you step into the compound (not like a jail compound although it is fully fenced off), you feel right at home. Only because it really is someone’s home. Which they’ve extended into a backpacking joint over the years. It is homely and welcoming.

The staff (Yzelle and May) are friendly, helpful and so happy. All the time. Facilities are clean and plentiful and available for use, at any time of day. Bar is well stocked (most important part of a backpackers joint) and food can be organised in the matter of minutes (free delivery point for most restaurants in and around the area).

I had a great time staying at 1322. But don’t take my word for it, try it out for yourself.

Enjoy your stay!
