Not impressed by Durban at all, I ventured into the surrounding areas for a place to stay. Truth be told, everywhere in Durban CBD was booked out or dodgy looking. So consulting my travel bible, I found a place in Bluff which was on the beachfront. Suited me fine.
Coast to coast boasts “Ansteys is situated close to the city, a mere stone’s throw from the Bluff’s main beach and a short walk from the world-famous Cave Rock break… a blissfully warm ocean, consistently good surf, protected beaches, interesting rock pools at low ride…”
Ansteys offers great accommodation options from dorms to self-catering flats with their own balconies. It is set up so each “unit” is on its own tier allowing you views that money can’t buy. For rainy days, you can use their pool table, DVD library and dartboard. For sunny days, this is the perfect place for surfers and beach lovers.
This is the view from one of the dorms in the morning. I think it would have been better if it hadn’t been so overcast. Now, what better view can you ask for when you’re brushing your teeth and doing your morning stretches?
Don’t take my word for it, go try it for yourself.
Enjoy your stay (and the views)!
