In my family, we use the Chinese lunar calendar and the western calendar. The seniors use both and the juniors use only the western one. I consider myself a junior (still under 30!!).
The Chinese calendar marks traditional festivals such as Chinese New Year and Mid Autumn Festival. On it, there are days which are good for getting married or creating an heir to the throne. Days which are bad for starting a new business or moving into a new place.
Last weekend, it was a good day to bless the house.
I laid out apples and oranges. I put rice and monies in the corners of the house. Here’s hoping the bad spirits are gone and I have many fortunate years in the house!
