I love Melbourne, and so do most Perthians I know.
I usually go to see friends and eat, most of the time combining the two. But this past August, I took a day off family duties to walk and explore the city and its mixed architectural styles.
Melbourne’s architectural style span many decades and styles. Early Melbourne architectural styles stretches from the Georgian to Art Noveau to Modern. Most of the buildings are of the Victorian period which puts Melbourne as one of the world’s greatest Victorian cities, along with London, Manchester, New York and Chicago.
I started at Federation Square, hopped on the shuttle bus and went snap happy at every stop.
Here are some photos of my favourite structures.
